UNESCO is pleased to support the 2018 edition of the International Light Art Project INTERFERENCE, initiated by Collectif Créatif. This creative initiative advances youth effective participation to the protection and promotion of the cultural heritage of the medina of Tunis [UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, 1979]. Furthermore, the innovative format of the event, the art mediation programme bridging the gaps between youth, contemporary artists, heritage professionals and the media, makes INTERFERENCE a promising and vibrant opportunity. It equips youth with skills, knowledge and behaviors that are key for civic engagement, intercultural dialogue and freedom of expression; all while facilitating the use of public space to promote open positive debate in society.
